Auditions for the 2025-26 Jazz Ensemble will run from May 5-May 30. To audition, You need to do the following:
1. Prepare and submit the two excerpts listed on the 2025-26 Jazz Ensemble Auditions class in your make music account. The excerpts are taken from the chart Jazz Police by Gordon Goodwin. The Jazz Ensemble is playing this chart currently. IT IS DUE MAY 26.
2. Complete the sight reading excerpt as well on Make Music. It is also listed in the audition class. IT IS DUE MAY 26.
3. As an extra option, you can also submit a recording of your improvisation skills over a Bb blues. It is also listed in the audition class. IT IS DUE MAY 26.
ON MAY 27 – MAY 30, Mr. Lindsay will invite players to have a private lesson at SAHS. He will be in contact with musicians via school email.
